Let’s Talk Transparency
As a non-profit, the Association’s tax returns are public information and can be searched for yourself on the ProPublica website. Based on our research, there’s some very troubling information and trends that can be viewed via those tax returns. Please note, it appears that the 2023 tax returns have not been filed and therefore not uploaded for the public to view.
As you can see on the right, for the fiscal year of 2022, the Association had a revenue of $1,665,715 which looks and sounds great. However, if you notice the expenses portion, your representation spent $1,657,144 of that revenue leaving a final net income of just $8,571 of your hard earned but easily spent Membership dues and fees.
As you can see, our Association has always maintained a healthy Net Income.
Now, some things to point out:
Prior to 2020, we always hovered just below 1,000 agents within our Membership.
During 2020, at the height of the Pandemic, our Membership numbers exploded as the real estate market went through history-making shifts. We also were one of the few Associations in the state to give back financially to our Members to alleviate some pressures we were facing (and we still managed to finish with over 87K in Net Income).
In 2021, we finished with a Net Income of OVER $280,00!!!
So, how is it that in 2022 we only had roughly $8K?!
